Company Details

ClickDough was founded by Harvard graduate Chris Yen. Launched in January 2000, it is growing at an extremely fast rate, signifying the potential people are seeing in the programme.

Presently, anybody can join ClickDough, although at the moment they are only paying members in the US. However, with investment backers from Europe and Asia, the incentive to expand into other countries is only slowed by the necessity to clear any legal hurdles of paying people in those countries.

AdBar

At the moment, the AdBar is actually a small browser window, with space for rotating adverts and for a small search box (using the goto search engine). It's a true 'use any time, anywhere' device, meaning it is platform-independent and doesn't require you to download any software. It could prove hugely popular among the college population - whether that's a good or bad thing is open to debate.

Using the window is simply a matter of logging into the website, and clicking on the 'open personal window' link. There is one major problem with the adbar, although Chris assures us that the technical team are currently working on a fix - the ad window steals the focus from the browser every minute in order to download new ads, which is annoying especially if you are typing and suddenly the window steals the focus.

Payment Plan

A share of advertising plan has been developed, with 8-levels of referrals possible. The split is 80-20, where members get 80% of the revenue.

At the moment the exact rates aren't known, although Chris Yen has mentioned in the Delphi Forums that for the first month the hourly rate will be about $0.20; while this isn't that much, remember that you can use the window for an unlimited amount of hours. That in itself is an attractive proposition for those who spend a lot of time online. I do believe the rates will eventually rise to around $0.40 per hour, but that may be 6 months away.

To illustrate the share-of-revenue plan, the table below uses an estimated hourly rate of $0.50.

The site is extremely pleasant, fast loading, easy to navigate, and contains a wealth of information on getting referrals.

Member Support

Chris is taking an active part in answering members queries on the Delphi Forum (Adstream Information Central 3) and the support emails are answered by humans very quickly, and they do actually read the problem, rather than simply providing a cut-and-paste answer.

In addition, their online faq contains previously asked questions, solutions, on top of being well-indexed and searchable.

Other Features

Competitions, and you can get paid via the X.com bank (for US members) as well as getting $150 cashback if you open an e-trade account.
