Company Details

Spedia is actively signing up new advertisers and trying to deal with the program's incredible growth. The paid surfing program is a little confusing but looks reasonable.

Ad bar

Ad bar is very stable, it has never crashed on my computer so far.

You can accumulate only ONE Ad Point per minute by using their cash bar. You are expected to browse the Internet actively by visiting at least one new URL every minute, and this is really annoying...

Payment Plan

Spedia will pay members a percentage of the ad revenue they generate through the ads you view in their ad program. You earn one ad point for each minute you have your Spedia bar open and you actively browse the Internet (Active Internet Browsing is defined as visiting at least one new URL every minute.). You are not required to click on banners. Each point worth about $.009. Payout averaged out to about $.54 per hour in September, 1999. Unlike many other paid surfing programs, there is no limit on the number of hours per month that you can use the ad program.

Spedia supports a much smaller than usual 1-level referral program to help you earn money when friends and family that you refer are earning money in the program. Payouts for direct referrals is 25%.

Another bonus is that, Spedia Premier Members will benefit from premium payout rates that are 20%-50% above the standard rate for the billing period. Spedia will grant one STAR per day to all its members that actively use Spedia Bar to navigate through the Internet for at least two hours per day. You need twenty (20) STARS per month to earn a Premier monthly status. In order to qualify for the Premier membership status you also need to sign up for at least 20 Instant Cash Programs per month. You can track the number of STARS you have accumulated online using the Statistics page. At the end of the month, Spedia will grant 20%-50% bonus Spedia Bar ad points to all premier members to reward them for their commitment and loyalty

Spedia's site is confusing for new comers and their FAQs page almost completely ignores the questions we have about the program. Instead of even mentioning the payout, Spedia explains the results for cheaters in the program and discusses their preferred membership program.
